Chemical Engineering
Department of chemical engineering was established at MSRIT in 1978 with an intake of 40 students.
The intake led to increasing with 60 students in the year 2002. The department is recognized as a research center by VTU in 2002.
The department has been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade.
From the past decades, the department has become a Bangalore Regional Centre of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Department of Civil engineering was established at MSRIT in 1971 providing B.Tech in Civil engineering for undergraduate students.
The department has got 5 years of accreditation by NBA.

Department of Computer Science and engineering was established at MSRIT in 1984 with an intake of 120 students.
The department started PG programme in the year of 1998 with an intake of 18 students.
The department conducts proficiency and vocational courses on fundamental and new programming languages for the study of computer applications.
The department offers state of art facilities like IBM Centre of Excellence, SAP, Technical Seminars, Workshops for UG & PG students.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established at MSRIT in 1975 with an intake of 120 UG students.
Department also offers PG programme in Digital electronics and communication, VLSI design and embedded systems with an intake of 30 students.

Department of Instrumentation engineering was established at MSRIT in 1992 which offers UG course approved by AICTE.
The objective of the department is to prepare the best industry practices in the areas of the embedded system, automation technologies, sensor technology for building advanced automation systems in communication and technology.

Department of Information Science and engineering was established at MSRIT in 1992 with an intake of 120 students.

Eligibility Criteria : For Studying B.Tech at MSRIT
The nationality of students must be an Indian.
The candidate must be passed 10+2 secondary/higher secondary examination or equivalent examination from the two years Pre-university in Karnataka with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with chemistry/biology or other optional subjects.
The candidates should have an aggregate of minimum 45% for General Category and 40% for reserved category students.
If the marks obtained in subjects are less than aggregate marks, then the candidate will not be considered for eligibility of B.tech course.
