1. Chemical Engineering

• Department of chemical engineering at BITS Pilani offers the 4-year undergraduate course to provide a high standard of quality, innovation in education and researches.

• Department evaluates success and leadership of the programs by professional skills including communication.

2. Civil Engineering

• Department of civil engineering was established in 1959 at BITS, Pilani which is the one of oldest department of BIT.

• It offers a 4-year undergraduate course that nurtures young minds to produce civil engineers.

• The department actively participates in conducting workshops, seminars and guest lectures for engineering students.

• The department provides additional programme in structural engineering, environmental engineering, transportation engineering, water resource engineering.

3. Computer Science and Information System

• Department of computer science and information system was established in 1971 which offers the 4-year undergraduate course for engineering students.

• Department has excellent placement record maintaining the track of brilliant students.

• In recent years, the department has granted for competitive research from several resources like national and international funding agencies, corporate research laboratories, Microsoft research etc.

4. Electrical and Electronics Engineering

• Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering established in the year 1970 which offers bachelor degree to engineering students for a period of 4 years.

• The department has a strong entrepreneurial culture which is fully commercial with respect to students involvement.

• The department also offers the master programme in communication engineering, embedded systems, electrical power electronics, and drives.

5. Mechanical Engineering

• Department of Mechanical engineering was started in 1946 offering an undergraduate degree to engineering students.

• It is one of the oldest department at BITS, Pilani. The department has highly experienced and broad-minded teaching faculty who serves quality knowledge resulting in reflection of skilled professionals.

Admission Process

Candidates who wish to apply for 1st year B.E undergraduate programme at BITS, Pilani need to follow following admission guidelines:

Eligibility Criteria: For Admission at BIT, Pilani

• The candidates must be obtained an aggregate of 75% marks in physics, Chemistry and mathematics subjects.

• Candidate needs to clear BITSAT entrance examination conducted by BIT, Pilani.

• Candidates who are presently studying on BITS or any other respective campus are not eligible to apply.

• The applicant must be an Indian nationality.

Scholarships and Concessions

1.2 Merit in Qualifying Examination

• Students who have obtained 90% or above in the aggregate of the Qualifying Examination are given a merit scholarship of 20% of first semester tuition fee.

• Students who have obtained 80% or above but less than 90% in the aggregate of the Qualifying Examination are given a merit scholarship of 15% of the first semester tuition fee.

1.3 Merit in BITSAT 2012 (BITS Online Admission Test)

a. Scholarship: Admitted candidates with BITSAT 2023 (or BITSAT 2022) score of 200 or above will be eligible for the following merit scholarship for two semesters (first year) of Academic Year 2022-23, depending on the score secured in BITSAT.

1.5 Sports Excellence

• Students who have participated and won medals in International championships are given a scholarship of 50% of the first semester tuition fee and students who have participated in the International Championships are given a scholarship of 15% of first semester tuition fee.

• Students who have participated and won medals in National tournaments are given a scholarship of 20% of first semester tuition fee and students who have participated in National Tournaments are given a scholarship of 5% of first semester tuition fee.

3.4 For Sibling

For families that have more than one child enrolled concurrently, a concession of 25% on the tuition fee is offered to the second child until the first child graduates.

Please note:

• All students must pay their fees in full at the time of Admission and any amount awarded as scholarship will be adjusted with the subsequent fee payment.

• At any given time, a student can avail more than one scholarship unless otherwise mentioned, provided the total scholarship amount does not exceed more than 50% of the tuition fee amount of that semester including all or any scholarship availed by the student. However this does not apply where the eligible scholarship itself is 50% or more.

The decision of the institute shall be final and cannot be contested on all matters of scholarships and concessions at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus. The institute has the right to discontinue the scholarship at any time in case the student is found in any disciplinary case.
